The Sacrament of Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is one of the three sacraments of initiation (the other two are Baptism and the Eucharist).

"The reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For 'by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.'" - Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1285

Receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation

Adults who are interested in receiving Confirmation should contact Father Ambros, a parochial vicar for both St. Rocco and St. Patrick. Please use our Contact page to do so.

If your child is in need of confirmation, please contact the parish office. You may be asked to speak with the Director of Religious Education or a priest depending on the needs of your child and how many years of Religious Education must be completed. We will be able to work with you and walk you through the steps necessary to prepare you and your child.
